  1. Vetstoria Limited is a company registered in the United Kingdom under number 5896625 and whose registered office is at Forge Ley, The Lees, Boughton Lees, Ashford, Kent TN25 4JB (“Vetstoria” / “we” / “our”).
  2. The aim of this Privacy Policy is to advise Members, and other users of the Website as applicable, on how we protect and deal with their personal data within the Website. We request that all users of the Website and particularly all Members read this Privacy Policy and only if they are satisfied with it should they continue or use of the Website, or register as a Member on the Website (as appropriate).
  3. The Privacy Policy may change from time to time, details of any such changes shall be posted on this page of the Website. It is the Members’ responsibility to check the Privacy Policy when they visit the Website.
  4. Vetstoria collects and stores the information and data provided by users of the Website generally and/or Members (when they complete the Registration process as a member - pet owner or vet - , and when a pet owner registers as a vet client) as indicated in this Privacy Policy. By providing this information, the user of the Website and/or the Member is consenting to its use in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
  5. Privacy settings for the pet owners
    • Only Vetstoria registered members can view your Profile data.
    • Vetstoria offers two privacy levels you may choose for your participation:
      • Public: Every Vetstoria registered members can see your Profile Data.
      • Private: Only the Vetstoria members registered as being your friends and/or members of your veterinary practice can see your Profile Data.
    • You may change your privacy level at any time.
    • Personally identifiable User Information not contained in your Profile Data, such as your email address, will not be revealed to others without your consent.
    • Regardless of which level of privacy you choose, your full name and part of your address will only be revealed to the veterinary practice members that you are registered with. Others will know you through a “username”.
    • Any comment left by your veterinary practice will remain a private conversation between you and them and will not be seen by any other member (including other veterinary practice members that you may be registered with).
    • Vetstoria registered members can contact you through Vetstoria.
  6. Privacy settings for the veterinarians.
    • Non-members of the Vetstoria community can see your Profile data apart from the content of the Wall. The Wall is visible only to Vetstoria registered members.
    • Personally identifiable User Information not contained in your Profile Data, such as personnal email addresses or the practice principal’s RCVS registration number, will not be revealed to others without your consent
    • Any comment you leave on a client or patient profile will remain a private conversation between you and them and will not be seen by any other member (including other veterinary practice members that your client may be registered with).
    • Vetstoria registered members can contact you through Vetstoria.
  7. There may be times when Members communicate with Vetstoria by means other than the Website, such as email, telephone or by letter, when we may collect and store personal data. Such data will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Vetstoria will need to use such data for processing a Registration Form and for administering a Member’s Membership. Other uses of data supplied by a user of the Website and/or a Member are set out in this Privacy Policy.

Information may be received and stored automatically when users/Members interact with Vetstoria via the Website, such as the internet protocol (IP) address used to connect to the internet, connection information, operating system and platform, unique reference number linked to the data entered on the system, login details, cookie number, activity on the Website including the pages Members visit and searches they may have made.
  9. Vetstoria, like many websites, may use cookies from time to time. A cookie is a small amount of information that is sent to a person’s browser from a webserver and stored on that computer’s hard drive so that the Website can remember who they are. A cookie will typically contain the name of the domain from which the cookie has been sent, the lifetime of the cookie, and a unique value number. Cookies cannot read your hard drive. Vetstoria may use persistent cookies from time to time.
  10. Along with many other internet sites, Vetstoria may use third party advertisers to fill advertising space on the Website. These third parties may use cookies and other similar technologies to assess information about Member’s or other visitors to the Website and other sites. Vetstoria has no access to or control over third party activity which is not covered by this Privacy Policy.
  11. Member’s personal data is used in the provision of the services offered by Vetstoria such as in the provision of the community on the Website and details of Members’ profiles and pet profiles on the Website, processing registration details, sending emails and other messages. Some messages may include commercial messages related to various services. Member’s personal data will be used to help Vetstoria communicate with them effectively. Vetstoria may use cookies, IP addresses or personal data in order to recognise Members when they visit or return to the Website, to show advertisements or content related to their preferences, track anonymised traffic, demographic and usage pattern, to prevent or detect fraud or abuses and help to improve the site. Vetstoria reserves the right to access, monitor, remove, alter or store or otherwise use any personal data if it is thought that a user / Member may have breached these terms and conditions or to enforce our rights or to protect the public where we are required to do so by the appropriate authority.
  12. Vetstoria takes its Member’s security very seriously. Precautions are taken to protect personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration or destruction. Vetstoria maintains stringent safeguards in connection with the collection, storage and disclosure of personal data.
  13. Vetstoria would only disclose personal data to third parties in particular circumstances, such as: to those third parties providing Vetstoria with a service, examples of which could be organisations that assist with the communications or monitoring of the Website; or if Members have agreed on the Website to provide data to other partners of Vetstoria so that they can send emails or other forms of communication with details of goods or services which may be of interest to Members, special offers and promotions. Members wishing to stop receiving such communications can unsubscribe via the communication at any time.

Vetstoria may also send anonymised data to third parties regarding the types of health and welfare issues regarding pets generally, or those located in specific geographical areas, that are logged on to the Website by a Member, although this will not disclose any personal data of the Member. The Member gives their consent to Vetstoria processing data about their pets in this way.
  15. Vetstoria reserves the right to distribute, (direct or through partners) publish or broadcast information contained in your profile, including images and video. By agreeing to the Vetstoria Membership Membership Terms of Use, Members have given their permission for such activity. Members not wishing to allow this should terminate their Registration with the Website immediately.
  16. Vetstoria reserves the right to disclose personal information, so far as is reasonably necessary:
    • if Vetstoria considers that a Member has breached the Membership Terms of Use, or to enforce Vetstoria’ rights or to protect the public;

      OR
    • in the case of an actual or proposed sale or merger or business combination involving all or the relevant part of the business or in the case of insolvency.
  17. You have the right to ask Vetstoria not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. You also have the right to access information held about you by Vetstoria. Your right to access can be exercised in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, as amended from time to time, and any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet Vetstoria’ costs in providing you with details on the personal data we hold about you.
  18. Vetstoria operates in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, and any amendments thereto.
  19. Consent

    By disclosing your personal information via the Website, over the telephone or via email you consent to the collection, storage and processing of your personal information by Vetstoria in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy and the General Terms of Use and Membership Terms of Use. Some information and emails sent to Vetstoria may be used as testimonials but no email address or contact details will be displayed.
