What information is included in the Brush Pet’s Teeth pack?

You can get your pet habituated to having their face touched and, over time, progress to brushing their teeth.

Get them habituated to being touched – This is easier if you start when they are young, but it’s never too late to make a difference! Start by touching your fingers somewhere they’re comfortable with, such as their head or neck. Slowly and carefully, over multiple days, increase the amount of time you’re touching them fore, and only then start moving towards their mouth. Reward them for doing well, and if they are uncomfortable, always stop for the day!

Get them used to the toothbrush and toothpaste – For cats, leave the toothbrush and toothpaste somewhere they can go and smell it of their own volition. This will make it seem much less scary! You can even let them taste a bit of toothpaste to get used to it.

Then, for both pets and dogs, repeat what you did to get them used to being touched but, this time, use a toothbrush.

Brush their teeth – When your pet is comfortable having their teeth touched, start gently brushing your pet’s teeth in circular motions. Work up bit by bit, until you can brush all their teeth in one go. Only then, you can start adding pet-safe toothpaste.

First, get your pets used to having their mouth and teeth touched. Then, start gently brushing your pet’s teeth in circular motions. Work up bit by bit, until you can brush all their teeth in one go. Only then, you can start adding pet-safe toothpaste! Never use human toothpaste, as it is toxic to pets.

Never use human toothpaste to brush your pet’s teeth, as it is toxic to them. Use a pet-specific, vet approved toothpaste instead.

In addition to daily tooth brushing, you can provide your pet with dental chews, dental-specific foods, and there are even products you can add to their water to help keep your pet’s teeth healthy. You also need to book a dental appointment with your vet once a year.

Our Content Pack Calendar has all the marketing assets you need for the rest of the year neatly mapped onto a calendar. It’s been specially designed to help you have the most engaging, productive, and profitable quarter yet for your veterinary clinic. Download 2023 Q4 calendar here!
