The 2026 Pet Parent Research Report
Ever wondered what keeps pet parents loyal to their vet—or what might make them switch? We surveyed 2,000 pet parents in the UK and Australia to uncover how digital tools, communication, and seamless clinic interactions shape satisfaction and loyalty.
Launching 12 January.
Gaps in convenience could lead to client loss
35%
of pet parents say they are likely to change their vet clinic in the next year.
58%
of pet parents have had issues when they try to book an appointment with their vet.
29%
of pet parents have decided against a particular vet clinic because of its website.
73%
of pet parents often or always check reviews before choosing a vet practice.
We’ve conducted valuable new research to understand how pet owners view and use technology in veterinary care. We surveyed 2,000 pet parents, exploring their expectations around communication and interactions with veterinary clinics, including digital services and websites, and how satisfied they are with their current vets.
Our findings reveal a significant gap between pet owner expectations and the technology currently offered by many clinics. Pet owners—especially younger generations and those in urban areas—increasingly rely on technology to manage their busy lives, and expect the same convenience and accessibility from their veterinary providers. This includes digital communication, online booking, and easy access to pet health records.
This firsthand account provides detailed insights into pet owner preferences, and highlights the importance of technology in meeting their needs.
