Veterinary marketing ideas and social media graphics to use in June
1. Pride Month: You can celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community in June by highlighting LGBTQ+ individuals (with consent) on social media, decorating your clinic with a Pride-related theme, developing donation-linked promotions, and collaborating with local LGBTQ+ organisations. Show respect and boost engagement with your community even more by offering reliable resources, and always using inclusive language.
2. National Microchipping Month: June is a great time to highlight the importance of microchipping—a vital bit of technology for getting lost pets back to their families. Your team can make an impact this June by offering discounts on microchipping services, explaining why it’s so important, and using social media to share heartwarming stories of lost pets being reunited. You can also remind pet owners about any free chip check services you provide, and offer discounts on chip services if they book an appointment with you online! Be sure to rely on your done-for-you veterinary website and in-clinic leaflets to easily spread the word about keeping microchip details up to date.
3. Hug Your Cat Day: Celebrated annually on the 4th of June, this day is an extra special time to appreciate our feline friends. Encourage cat lovers to share photos of their cherished bonds in the comments section of your social media post, and consider giving out exciting pet prizes or veterinary discounts for the best photos. Be sure to gather photos of your staff posing with their cats, and create a carousel on Instagram to show them off! You may also share tips for a strong cat-human connection (such as engaging in interactive play), along with photos of staff with their own cats.
4. World Environment Day: Honoured annually on 5 June, this day encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment. Your veterinary team may consider launching a “Green Paw” social media campaign with prizes for showing off their eco-friendly pet care in your comments section, or by uploading photos to their profiles and tagging your clinic! Try partnering with local environmental organisations, and offering discounts on any eco-friendly products you may offer for those who book an appointment online.
5. National Best Friend Day: Each 8th of June is set aside for showing some extra love to our human and non-human friends and family members. Your team can celebrate the importance of friendship and healthy lifestyles by offering a “Best Friend Discount” for pet parents who use your website to schedule a wellness exam, or any other routine services you may want to draw attention to. Spread word on social media to let your followers know about the discount, and be sure to include an online appointment booking link to your veterinary website!
6. World Pet Memorial Day: This year, the 10th of June is a time to remember the pets who are no longer with us. It’s a day for celebrating their lives, and you can help pet owners honour them by sharing stories and photos, donating to shelters, or simply encouraging them to pause for a quiet moment of reflection. Use your social media platforms to highlight resources for pet loss, and upload a photo of your team showing their support to owners of all types of pets.
7. Father’s Day: The third Sunday in June (the 15th in 2025) is when we celebrate and give a nod to fathers, father figures, and those special paternal bonds. It’s a day to recognise the significant role fathers play in their kids’ lives, and you can join in by swapping photos of pets and their human dads on social media! Share pictures of any staff who are pet dads to your veterinary website and social media channels, and invite your pet dad followers to reply on social media with their own! You could even highlight helpful tips on how pet dads can best interact with and look after their pets, such as making sure they get enough exercise and sticking to a regular routine.
8. Take Your Dog to Work Day: Taking a leap into the Friday directly after Father’s Day (the 20th of June this year), this special day aims to highlight how important it is to connect with our canine “colleagues” and to encourage responsible dog adoption from reputable organisations. Your veterinary team can join in the fun by running a photo competition on social media, offering some smashing dog-themed prizes, and sharing helpful hints on the importance of bonding with and caring for dogs properly.
9. Summer Solstice: Give pet owners a midsummer boost to keep their pets happy and healthy this 21st of June! Offer limited-time discounts or other incentives for customers who book routine pet check-ups online, which not only ensures pets get the care they need but also drives more business to your clinic. Remind pet owners about the importance of keeping pets hydrated, well fed, and cool from high temperatures.
10. Cat World Domination Day: Behind every cat’s cuteness lurks a plan for total world domination (or so the idea goes for the 24th of June). Cat World Domination Day is a bit of a lark, playing on the common notion that felines are in charge of their human mums and dads. Still, we’ll take it as another chance to celebrate the charming and quirky nature of cats! You can get involved by posting a poll on social media, asking your followers if they go along with this idea, and having them share snaps of their furry friends in the comments. You can also prevent cats from taking over the world by keeping them happy through discounted vet services and other promotions.
11. World Day Against Pet Abandonment: Each year, the final Saturday in June (28 June 2025) is dedicated to raising awareness of the difficulties faced by abandoned animals. It also serves as an important prompt to educate the public about the commitment involved in adopting and owning a pet. Your veterinary practice can support the cause by informing your community about responsible pet ownership, and directing them to reputable local organisations for advice on best practices for pet adoption and care. To further encourage client interaction and boost business, consider providing complimentary microchipping or discounts for pet owners who book your services online.
